Not a substitute for an examination
Eye conditions that sound alike in writing can be very different in reality. A diagnosis and a treatment decision require a personal examination by a qualified eye doctor, often with specialized imaging. Do not start, stop or change a treatment because of something you have read here; discuss your questions with your own doctor.
No doctor–patient relationship through the website
Reading this website, or sending a general question by WhatsApp or e-mail, does not create a doctor–patient relationship with Prof. Türkoğlu. Such a relationship begins only when a consultation or a review of your records has been agreed with the practice. General answers to inquiries cannot replace an examination.
In an emergency
Accuracy and review dates
Each page shows its medical review status and, once reviewed, the review date. Medicine changes quickly, and new studies, approvals and guidelines can make information out of date. Pages are reviewed at least once a year, but it cannot be promised that every page reflects the latest evidence at the moment you read it. The editorial policy explains how content is checked and corrected.
Results differ between patients
Figures quoted from studies describe groups of patients. They cannot predict the result for an individual, and no treatment can be promised to succeed.
Investigational treatments
Some pages describe treatments that are being tested in clinical trials. These are labeled as investigational, with the date of their status. Their mention does not mean that they are approved in your country, available at the practice or suitable for you; whether a patient can join a trial is decided by the trial team.
