Why we use your data and on what legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|

| Travel coordination with BergemHealth, if you ask for it | Your explicit consent |
| Security and operation of the website | Legitimate interest in a safe, working website (KVKK Art. 5; GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Website analytics, only if enabled | Your consent through the cookie banner |
You can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before it, or processing that the law requires, such as keeping medical records.
Who receives your data
- Messaging and e-mail providers. If you contact us by WhatsApp (a service of Meta) or by e-mail, your messages and attachments pass through the provider's systems, which may store data on servers outside Türkiye. Such transfers abroad take place in line with KVKK Article 9 and, where the GDPR applies, its rules on international transfers. If you prefer, you can call the practice or bring your documents in person instead.
- Health professionals and facilities involved in your care, such as imaging, laboratory and pathology services and specialist teams that deliver part of a treatment — only as far as needed for your care, and all bound by confidentiality.
- BergemHealth, the practice's coordination partner for international patients — only if you contact BergemHealth yourself or ask the practice to share your details, and then only what is needed for the service you request, such as your name, contact details, travel dates and language needs.
- Service providers that host this website or maintain our IT systems, under confidentiality obligations.
- Public authorities and courts where the law requires it.
We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising.
How long we keep your data
- Messages and documents from people who do not become patients are kept only as long as needed to answer the inquiry and any follow-up questions, and are then deleted or anonymized, unless the law requires longer storage.
- Medical records are kept for the periods required by Turkish health legislation.
- Invoices and payment records are kept for the periods required by tax law.
- Technical logs are kept for a limited period for security purposes.
When data is no longer needed, it is deleted, destroyed or anonymized in line with KVKK Article 7.
How we protect your data
Access to personal data is limited to Prof. Türkoğlu and the staff who need it for your care, all of whom are bound by confidentiality. Devices and accounts are protected with passwords and kept up to date, and the website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). No method of sending data over the internet is completely secure: for large scan files, use a password-protected cloud link and send the password in a separate message.
Your rights
Under Article 11 of KVKK, you have the right to:
- learn whether your personal data is processed and, if so, request information about it;
- learn the purpose of the processing and whether the data is used for that purpose;
- know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom your data is transferred;
- ask for incomplete or inaccurate data to be corrected;
- ask for your data to be deleted or destroyed under the conditions of Article 7;
- ask for corrections and deletions to be communicated to third parties who received your data;
- object to a result against you that arises solely from automated analysis of your data;
- claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing.
If the GDPR applies to you, you also have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country. In Türkiye, you may complain to the Personal Data Protection Board after first applying to the practice.
How to make a request: write to the address above, or e-mail info@elifbetulturkoglu.com from the address you used to contact us, giving your name, contact details and what you are asking for. We may ask you to confirm your identity. Requests are normally answered free of charge, within the time limits set by law: 30 days under KVKK and one month under the GDPR.

Children
If you contact the practice about a child, you do so as the child's parent or legal guardian. We process the child's information to answer your inquiry and to provide care, on the basis of your consent as guardian and the legal grounds for health care described above.
